Gangwon Province Tops Expats’ Weekend Getaway List

A new government survey shows Gangwon Province is the most popular overnight destination for foreign residents in Korea, beating out Busan and Jeju Island. Nearly 28% of expats who travel domestically have visited Gangwon, drawn by its mountains, beaches, and natural scenery. The study surveyed 1,000 foreign residents over a year and found that about 59% of them take domestic trips, averaging two per year.
