Korea Showcases Traditional Gat Hat-Making at UNESCO Meeting in Busan

South Korea is hosting the 48th UNESCO World Heritage Committee session in Busan from July 20-29, and the Korea Heritage Service will run a public showcase of traditional crafts including gat-making. The gat is a traditional Korean horsehair hat historically worn by nobility and scholars. This is the first time South Korea has hosted this major UNESCO meeting, and the showcase lets international delegates experience living Korean heritage firsthand.
