Korean Independence Hero’s Calligraphy Returns Home from Japan

A powerful calligraphic work by independence activist Ahn Jung-geun, written in 1910 before his execution, has been returned to Korea from Japan. The eight-character piece reads 'International Law Is No Match for Cannons,' reflecting Ahn's frustration after Japanese authorities rejected his request for an international trial. The artwork was unveiled at Deoksugung Palace in Seoul just ahead of National Liberation Day.
