Korea’s Regional Cities Become Tourism Hotspots Beyond Seoul

South Korea's government is investing billions to transform regional districts into major tourist destinations by showcasing local culture, food, and heritage. Six commercial areas outside Seoul—including Sokcho, Gyeongju, and Seogwipo—are receiving up to 5 billion won each through 2027.
