Korea’s Tidal Flats Expanding UNESCO World Heritage Status

South Korea's famous getbol (tidal flats) are getting bigger on the UNESCO World Heritage list, with new sites in South Jeolla and South Chungcheong provinces being added. The International Union for Conservation of Nature already recommended the expansion, and it'll be officially reviewed at UNESCO's committee meeting in Busan this July. Korea's tidal flats were first recognized in 2021 for their unique geology and incredible biodiversity.
