Seoul Michelin-starred restaurant indicted for serving dishes with ants

A two-Michelin-star restaurant in Seoul has been indicted for serving dishes containing dried ants imported from the US and Thailand since 2021. Ants are not approved for human consumption in South Korea, which only permits 10 specific insect species for food use. The restaurant allegedly sold around 12,000 ant-containing dishes over four years, generating roughly 120 million won in revenue.
