Seoul’s Royal Palaces See More Visitors But Less Revenue

Seoul's five major royal palaces and shrines welcomed 15 million visitors in 2025, up from 13.1 million in 2024, but ticket revenue actually dropped to 11.4 billion won from 11.6 billion won. The decline happened because nearly 69% of visitors entered for free, compared to 63% the year before, as free-admission days expanded to 53 days annually.
