Busan's flagship summer beach festival marks its 30th edition from August 7–13, 2026 at Dadaepo Beach — seven straight days of programming on the city's widest stretch of sand.

The Busan Sea Festival is the city’s biggest summer beach event, and 2026 marks its 30th edition. From August 7 to 13 it takes over Dadaepo Beach in Saha-gu, on Busan’s western coast, running seven days straight.

Why Dadaepo, not Haeundae

Dadaepo is not the postcard beach — that title belongs to Haeundae. It is wider, flatter and far shallower: the tide pulls back a long way and leaves an enormous expanse of open sand behind it. That geography is exactly why the festival lives here. There is simply more room for stages and crowds than Haeundae’s narrow strip allows, and the shallow water makes the beach programs easier to join.

Practical notes

From Seoul, take the KTX to Busan Station (roughly two and a half hours), then Busan Metro Line 1 all the way to Dadaepo Beach Station — the last stop on the line, right beside the sand. Detailed programs and stage lineups are announced closer to the dates by the Busan festival organizing committee. Early August is peak domestic travel season in Korea, so book accommodation well ahead.
