Two evenings of craft beer and food trucks on the Jungnangcheon stream bank in Dongdaemun-gu, August 28–29, 2026, 17:00–22:00. Free entry, twice the size of last year, and a neighbourhood festival rather than a tourist one.

Craft beer on the stream bank

The Dongdaemun Beer Festival 2026 takes over Jangan 1 Waterside Park along the Jungnangcheon stream on Friday August 28 and Saturday August 29, 2026, 17:00–22:00. Entry is free; you pay only for what you eat and drink.

This is the third edition, and the district has roughly doubled it — twice as many craft breweries and twice as many food trucks as last year, spread along the water with stages and hands-on programmes between them. Food trucks take orders by QR code this year, and beer is sold in large-format pours.

Why go

This is not a tourist festival. It is a neighbourhood one — a district office, a stream bank, and several thousand people from around Jangan-dong sitting outside on the last warm Friday of August. Nobody will speak much English and nothing will be translated, but ordering a beer and a plate of something is not a language problem, and that is most of what happens here.

Come at dusk. The stream path is flat and lit, the walk along it is part of the evening, and the whole thing closes at 22:00.
