One of Korea's most enchanting summer festivals, held in the pristine valleys of Muju where thousands of fireflies naturally light up the night. The festival celebrates the return of fireflies — an indicator of clean water — with nighttime firefly walks, eco-programmes, and traditional folk performances. Daytime activities include raft rides and trout fishing. Muju is 2.5 hours from Seoul by bus.
