Musical LEMPICKA — Seoul (Final Weeks)

June 01, 2026 – June 21, 2026
The world's first licensed international production of the Broadway Tony-nominated musical LEMPICKA — about Art Deco painter Tamara de Lempicka — closes its Seoul run in June. Directed by Rachel Chavkin (Hadestown), this Korean cast production has been acclaimed as the standout large-scale musical of early 2026. Final three weeks at NOL Theater COEX.

What Is LEMPICKA?

LEMPICKA is a biographical musical about Tamara de Lempicka — the Polish-French Art Deco painter who fled the Russian Revolution, rose to fame in Paris in the 1920s, and became one of the most distinctive voices in 20th-century portraiture. The musical dramatizes her relationships, her art, and her navigation of a world hostile to women who refused to be secondary. It received multiple Tony Award nominations during its 2024 Broadway premiere.

A Historic Production

This Seoul staging is the world’s first internationally licensed production of LEMPICKA outside Broadway. It is directed by Rachel Chavkin — the Tony-winning director behind Hadestown — making her Korean theater debut. The Korean cast has been widely praised as exceptional, with critics noting that the production in some ways surpasses the original Broadway run.

Final Weeks in June

The Seoul run closes on June 21. If you’ve been considering seeing this production, June is the last opportunity. The show runs approximately 2 hours 40 minutes with one intermission.
