Classical Music on the Han River

Each summer, the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra sets up an outdoor stage at Yeouido Hangang Park and performs a free public concert for tens of thousands of Seoul residents — and anyone else who happens to be there. The 2026 edition features conductor Kim Sunwook alongside pianist Sunwoo Yekwon and violinist Kim Seo-hyun, with a fireworks finale over the Han River at the close of the performance.

Why This Event Stands Out

The Seoul Philharmonic is not a casual ensemble — it’s one of Asia’s leading orchestras, with a long tenure under Osmo Vänskä and international touring history. Getting a free outdoor concert from a world-class orchestra at sunset on the Han River, followed by fireworks, is genuinely one of Seoul’s great summer experiences. The atmosphere is relaxed and festive — families spread picnic blankets, groups of friends bring food, and the crowd is mixed in age and nationality.

No Ticket Required

Admission is completely free. There are no reserved spots — the Hangang Park lawn fills up on a first-come basis. For a good view, arrive at least 90 minutes before the 7:30 PM start time. Bring a blanket, snacks, and something to sit on.

Getting There

Yeouido Hangang Park is easily accessible via subway. Take Line 5 or Line 9 to Yeouinaru Station (Exit 2 or 3), then follow the signs to the park. The walk to the main lawn takes about 10 minutes. Buses also stop near the park entrance.
