A preserved urban village in the Jeong-dong area of Jongno-gu where a cluster of buildings dating from the Japanese colonial period through to the 1980s have been converted into a public cultural complex with small museums, artist studios, and food spaces. The village occupies a footprint that was scheduled for demolition before the city reversed course and preserved it as a living archive of Seoul's residential architectural history. Each building has been documented and restored to reflect a specific era of Seoul's past. Unlike formal museums, the spaces are used actively for workshops, performances, and community events rather than static display.
