헤이리 예술마을
Unlike the craft stalls you find at most Korean folk villages, Heyri was designed from scratch in the early 2000s as a live-work community for artists, architects, writers, and musicians — and many still live here. The architectural covenant that governed every building means the village reads as a coherent urban experiment rather than a tourist trap. Small private galleries, independent bookshops, and film studios coexist with cafes run by the artists themselves. There is no single entrance gate, no ticket, no map handed to you. You wander, knock on open doors, and encounter things. Most foreign visitors zip past it on the way to Paju Book City without stopping — which is exactly why you should stop.
