The Jungnangcheon stream in Jungnang-gu flows south through the eastern Seoul residential districts before joining the Han River at Ttukseom, and the 8.4-kilometre riverside path from Jungnang station to the Han River confluence is one of the most ecologically active urban stream corridors in Seoul — great egrets, kingfishers, and during spring migration, a range of wading birds use the stream bank throughout the year. The path is used primarily by the Jungnang and Dongdaemun residential population for cycling and running. The cherry blossom corridor along the Jungnangcheon in early April is one of the most photographed in eastern Seoul.
