The Seoul World Cup Stadium — built for the 2002 FIFA World Cup and now home to FC Seoul — is the largest stadium in Korea and its surrounding development includes the Lotte Outlet Worldcup Mall, the KSPO Dome, and a public plaza that functions as a community gathering space. On match days the area transforms with street food vendors and supporters; on non-match days the stadium exterior and the public spaces around it are open for walks and cycling. The Han River cycling path connects directly to the stadium's western edge. The stadium's architectural design — the roof echoes the shape of a traditional Korean kite — is visible from the adjacent park.
