Walk Seoul’s Han River: Jamsugyo Bridge Goes Car-Free Every Sunday Until June 14

Seoul’s Most Beloved Sunday Festival Is Back

Every Sunday through June 14, one of Seoul’s most iconic bridges transforms into a pedestrian paradise. The 2026 Car-Free Jamsugyo Bridge Festival closes the 1.1km Jamsugyo Bridge to all traffic from 11am to 11pm, turning it over to walkers, dancers, yoga practitioners, food lovers, and anyone who wants to experience the Han River from the middle of it.

Now in its fifth year, the festival has drawn a cumulative 5.3 million visitors since 2022 — and it’s easy to see why. There’s simply nothing else like strolling across a bridge over the Han River while live music plays around you and food trucks line the sides.

What’s Happening This Year

The 2026 edition runs under the theme “Walk the Hangang River Together, Come Together as One.” Each Sunday features a rotating lineup of eight themed programs:

  • Acoustic Guitar Flash Mob — spontaneous performances across the bridge
  • Sunset Yoga — group sessions with Han River views
  • Big 3 Play Zones — newly introduced activity areas for all ages
  • Street Performances — busking and parades throughout the day
  • On-Bridge Movie Screenings — as dusk falls (select Sundays)
  • Food Trucks — around 30 vendors serving global cuisine
  • Flea Market — handmade crafts and unique finds

Banpo Rainbow Fountain — Don’t Miss It

After dark, head to the Banpo Hangang Park area nearby for the famous Banpo Rainbow Fountain show. Performances run three times each evening at 7:30 PM, 8:00 PM, and 8:30 PM (20 minutes each). The combination of a bridge walk during the day and the fountain show at night makes for a perfect Seoul Sunday.

How to Get There

Take subway Line 3, 7, or 9 to Express Bus Terminal Station (고속터미널) and walk toward the Han River. The bridge entrance is clearly marked from the park. Entry to the festival is completely free.
