Amsa-dong Prehistoric Settlement (암사동 선사유적지)

📍 Amsa-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul

Excavated pit dwellings from a Neolithic settlement dating to approximately 6,000 years ago, preserved in a riverside park near the Han River in Gangdong-gu. The site holds reconstructed comb-pattern pottery dwellings and an on-site museum with original artefacts recovered during excavation. It is one of the most significant Neolithic sites in Korea and receives almost no tourist traffic despite being a 20-minute subway ride from central Seoul. The park grounds around the excavation site are quiet and planted with traditional crops that would have been grown by the original settlement.
