The East Wing of Galleria in Apgujeong was one of the first luxury department stores in Korea and remains one of the most culturally significant. The building's perforated disc facade — replaced by an LED installation in the evenings — is as recognisable as any piece of commercial architecture in Seoul. The food hall in the basement is a benchmark for Korean premium grocery retail; the upper floors stock every major European fashion house with the same thoroughness as the Paris originals.
