Boramae Park in Dongjak-gu was built on the site of a former Korean Air Force base and the aviation history of the site is preserved in a section of the park where historical military aircraft are displayed in the open air alongside the original control tower and base infrastructure. The aircraft collection includes Korean War-era jets and trainer aircraft used through the development of the Korean Air Force. The rest of the park functions as one of the larger urban green spaces in southern Seoul, with sports facilities, a large pond, and open lawns used daily by the surrounding residential population. The park is free to enter and the aviation section adds a specific character that distinguishes it from comparable urban parks.
