Busan Gijang Haedong Yonggungsa Sea Temple

📍 Gijang-gun, Busan

One of the few Korean Buddhist temples built directly on the coast, with its main hall perched on rocks above crashing waves. The temple was founded in the 14th century and rebuilt in its current dramatic position in the 1970s. Waves spray the stone lanterns on rough days. The surrounding cliff walk with the East Sea below is one of the most photographed scenes in Korea outside of Seoul.
