The underground mall below the COEX convention center is one of the largest in Asia and stays interesting because the tenant mix runs from the Star Field Library — a photogenic public reading room with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves — to the COEX Aquarium, which holds 40,000 marine animals across tunnel tanks and open pools. The mall connects to Bongeunsa Temple via an underground passage. It's overlit and commercial in the way all large malls are, but the library and aquarium justify the trip.
