Daehangno Art Theater District (대학로 소극장)

The blocks around Hyehwa station host over 100 small theaters — box seats under 100 people — making this the densest concentration of live performance in Korea. Productions run the full range from experimental new work to long-running comedies that have been playing the same venue for years. Tickets are generally inexpensive, shows start in the evenings, and the pre-show dining and post-show drinking areas around the theaters are good at every price range.
