The historic water tower in Dangsan-dong — a brick cylindrical structure built during the Japanese colonial period — has been preserved as a public park landmark and is the visual centrepiece of the small neighbourhood park surrounding it. The tower is one of the few remaining pieces of industrial heritage in the Yeongdeungpo district and the park around it is used daily by the local residential population. The view from the park toward the Han River and the Yeouido skyline is partially framed by the tower structure. The surrounding Dangsan-dong residential streets have a calm, established quality that contrasts with the commercial intensity of Yeongdeungpo station nearby.
