Dongjak Riverside Night Fishing (동작 한강 야간 낚시)

The embankment sections south of Dongjak Bridge are used for night fishing by a regular group of locals who set up between sunset and midnight, particularly on summer evenings. The scale of the operation varies — some nights it is a handful of retirees, others it is a continuous line of rods and lanterns stretching several hundred metres. The fish pulled from the Han River at this location are primarily flathead grey mullet and catfish. The atmosphere is entirely local and the activity is largely invisible to the weekend leisure crowd that uses the main riverside parks.
