A serene Buddhist temple hidden in the forested hills of Seongbuk-dong, built in 1997 on the grounds of a former luxury restaurant. Free to enter (open 4AM–8:30PM), the wooded trail through the grounds is one of the best quiet walks in Seoul. Visit in autumn for fiery foliage or winter for snow on the tile roofs. Templestay programs with tea ceremony and meditation are available — book ahead.
