Gimpo International Airport's domestic terminal preserves one of the finest examples of 1970s Korean modernist airport architecture still in active use. The departure hall — all terrazzo floors, low ceilings, and period signage — has barely changed since it handled Korea's first international routes. The observation deck (free) overlooks the runway and gives unobstructed views of aircraft movements, including the frequent shuttle flights to Jeju. The airport café serves kimbap and coffee to the same demographic it has served for forty years. A quietly atmospheric stop for anyone with time before or after a domestic departure, or for architecture and aviation enthusiasts.
