Gwanghee-dong Fabric and Trim District (광희동 원단·부자재 거리)
The streets of Gwanghee-dong in Jung-gu form the city's primary fabric and textile supplies district, where bolts of Korean and imported fabric, lining materials, buttons, zippers, and garment-making supplies are sold from dozens of adjacent specialist shops. The district supplies the garment production operations of the Dongdaemun market complex nearby and is used by fashion students, independent designers, and small production operations. Individual retail purchases are standard. The surrounding area extends into costume and theatrical supply, with several shops specialising in traditional Korean fabric patterns and naturally dyed textiles.
