The lower section of Gyeongnidan-gil — the blocks closest to Noksapyeong station — has more independently owned cafes and restaurants and less of the polished concept-store atmosphere that characterises the upper stretch closer to Itaewon proper. The slope of the street means views over the residential rooftops open up intermittently as you climb. Several basement bars operate without street-level signage and are identifiable only by the sound of music or the handwritten door note. Best explored on foot without a destination in mind.
