Ichon-dong holds the largest concentration of Korean residents in Japan who have settled in Seoul, and the restaurant strip that developed around their community serves regional Japanese-Korean cuisine and home-style cooking that reflects that specific background. The food here — tonkatsu, curry, handmade udon, Korean-Japanese fusion dishes — is noticeably different from both mainstream Korean and mainstream Japanese restaurant food. Several of the operations have been run by the same families for over thirty years. The strip is largely unknown outside the local community.
