The Kyobo Bookstore flagship at Gwanghwamun is the largest bookstore in Korea and one of the largest in Asia — a single-floor space covering the entire basement level of the Kyobo Building. The Korean literature section is the most comprehensive physical collection of Korean-language fiction and non-fiction available in a single location. The store is used daily by Seoul residents as a destination for browsing, a working space, and a meeting point. The cultural programming around the store — the Gwanghwamun Letter exhibition on the exterior plaza, seasonal installations — gives it a civic function beyond retail. Open until 10 p.m. daily.
