Majang-dong in Seongdong-gu holds the largest livestock market in Seoul and the surrounding streets have developed a dense concentration of charcoal grill restaurants operating off the back of the direct meat supply. The cuts available here — particularly hanwoo and imported beef at the higher-volume cuts — are priced significantly below the equivalent quality at Gangnam BBQ restaurants. The market itself operates from early morning; the restaurants around the perimeter serve from lunch. The atmosphere is functional and entirely local, without the design investment of the Seongsu or Apgujeong BBQ operations.
