The 282-meter summit of Mangusan, accessible by a quiet forest trail winding through the Mangwu Historical Park, offers a little-visited panoramic view across northeastern Seoul and into Gyeonggi Province. The summit trail passes several national cultural heritage grave sites, meaning the hike is simultaneously a nature walk and a history lesson. Almost no foreign hikers come here despite it being an easier and more historically resonant alternative to crowded Achasan.
