Myeongdong Cathedral

📍 74 Myeongdong-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul

The Gothic brick cathedral completed in 1898 that served as a sanctuary during the democracy movement and now anchors the top of Myeongdong hill. The interior is open to visitors outside Mass times. A useful landmark and one of the few genuinely quiet spots in the neighbourhood. The Sunday 11 AM Mass draws 2,000 people — plan around it if you're visiting then.
