The Korean parliament building sits on Yeouido island with a green copper dome that has appeared on every domestic news broadcast for fifty years. The grounds are open to walk during daylight hours and the riverside approach gives a clear view of the building across a wide plaza. The cherry blossom boulevard along the outer wall of the compound — open to the public for two weeks each April — is one of the most photographed spots in Seoul during peak bloom.
