A functioning neighbourhood market in the middle of Seocho-gu's affluent residential district — an anomaly that has somehow survived the area's gentrification. The morning produce section supplies local apartment buildings; the afternoon food stalls serve lawyers and civil servants from the nearby Supreme Court complex. The market's tteokbokki and sundae vendors have long queues on weekday lunch breaks. The contrast between the market's worn plastic seating and the surrounding apartment towers costing tens of millions of dollars per unit makes it one of Gangnam's more interesting places to spend an hour.
