Two Joseon royal tombs hidden in plain sight inside the Gangnam office district — a UNESCO World Heritage Site that most people walk past without knowing it exists. Seolleung holds Queen Jeonghuieon; Jeongneung holds King Jungjong. The grass burial mounds are set within a dense woodland of pine and zelkova that makes it difficult to believe you are surrounded by skyscrapers. Admission is 1,000 KRW. Almost no tourists visit. The contrast between the silent, forested tomb grounds and the adjacent office towers and luxury car dealerships is one of Seoul's sharpest juxtapositions.
