The streets behind the main Seongsu café strip still hold a working concentration of small-scale craftsmen — cobblers, leather workers, metal fabricators, and print studios who have operated in the area since long before the neighbourhood became fashionable. Several have opened the front of their workshops to the public, running short drop-in sessions and selling directly off the bench. The pace of the block changes noticeably when you turn off the main road — less designed, more functional, and considerably more interesting.
