Sillim-dong Night Food Alley (신림동 야식 골목)

📍 Sillim-dong, Gwanak-gu, Seoul

The network of streets around Sillim station running toward the Goshichon exam district holds one of the densest concentrations of late-night food options in Seoul outside of Jongno and Mapo. The operational logic is driven by the study population — cheap, substantial, open until 2 or 3 a.m. Sundae soup, spicy tteokbokki, grilled skewers, and dakgalbi counters operate under temporary tent structures that have effectively been permanent for years. The energy on a weeknight after 10 p.m. is distinctive and has its own version of the pojangmacha atmosphere that has largely disappeared elsewhere in the city.
