The Hanseong Baekje Museum sits over a section of the original Baekje capital, which occupied this area for nearly 500 years before moving south in 475 CE. The museum's permanent collection traces the full arc of the Baekje kingdom through recovered artifacts, many excavated from sites within walking distance. The attached Mongchon Earthworks — a still-visible ancient fortress — runs through the park directly behind the building.
