The largest military museum in the world occupies a former army headquarters site at the foot of Namsan in Yongsan. The outdoor sculpture garden displays aircraft, tanks, warships, and artillery pieces at walk-around proximity. The indoor collection covers Korean military history from the Three Kingdoms period through the Korean War in considerable depth. Entry is free for the permanent collection. The scale of the outdoor exhibits — including a full-size destroyer section — is hard to convey in photos.
