Seoul taxis are a safe and reasonable means of transportation. Using the Kakao Taxi app is more convenient. Basic fares: Regular taxis: 4,800 won basic fare (2km), then meter increases. Late night surcharge (midnight~4am): 20% additional. Deluxe/Large taxis: More expensive but better service. Kakao Taxi (Recommended): Download the app → Enter destination → Check estimated fare → Request taxi. No Korean phone number needed (sign up with Kakao account). Even if you don’t know the destination in Korean, search in English on the app and select. Payment via card registered in app or cash. UT (Korean version of Uber) is also available. Precautions: Difficult times to catch a taxi: Friday-Saturday midnight~2am (subway unavailable)
