The Jinhae Cherry Blossom Music Festival is one of Korea’s largest and most spectacular cherry blossom events, transforming the naval port city of Jinhae in Changwon with an estimated 350,000 cherry trees in full bloom (April 3–5). The visual scale is extraordinary: entire streets, canals, and hillsides disappear under a mass of white blossoms. The festival combines outdoor concert stages with the natural spectacle, particularly at the famous Gyeonghwa Station — a small railway station where trains pass under a complete arch of cherry trees, creating one of the most reproduced images in Korean spring photography.
Romanticroad (Gyeonghwa-ro) is the main festival street — a 350m corridor flanked by cherry trees where food stalls and performances are concentrated. Yeojwacheon Stream Cherry Blossom Road is quieter and equally beautiful, following a canal lined with blossoms. Jinhae Tower offers a bird’s-eye view over the blooming city. Military port areas in Jinhae have traditionally opened for limited public access during the festival — check for current year schedules.
