Eight kilometers of metasequoia trees planted in the 1970s now tower 10-20 meters overhead, forming a cathedral-like tunnel along a rural road that was once a forgotten agricultural access path. Unlike the famous bamboo grove (a 5-minute walk away), this road still functions as a real road — locals drive it, cyclists pass through, and in the early morning mist it feels like a private experience even in peak season. The trees change dramatically: stark and architectural in winter, explosively green in June, and rust-gold in November. The bamboo grove nearby (Juknokwon) is fine but manicured; the metasequoia road still has the slightly untamed quality that makes it feel discovered.
