을숙도 철새 보호구역

📍 Eulsukdo-ro, Saha-gu, Busan

Where the Nakdong River meets the sea in western Busan, a tidal estuary island called Eulsukdo becomes one of East Asia's most significant migratory bird stopover points during spring and autumn. Roughly 10,000 to 60,000 birds — including rare spoon-billed sandpipers, black-faced spoonbills, and white-naped cranes — use the mudflats twice yearly, and Korean birdwatchers have documented over 200 species here. The observation center has free telescopes and knowledgeable volunteer staff (some English spoken), and the elevated boardwalk through the reed beds offers views of the estuary that feel completely disconnected from the urban port city 20 minutes away. Peak season is late October through November for waterbirds, and late April through May for shorebirds. Take Subway Line 1 to Hadan Station and then a 20-minute walk or short taxi.
