Seo-gu is Busan's most overlooked district for visitors, and Amnam Park on its western tip is almost entirely unknown outside the city. The 2.3km cliff-hugging trail circles the park's rocky headland with unobstructed views of cargo ships entering Busan New Port — the fourth busiest container port in the world — creating an oddly cinematic backdrop against pine trees and sea stacks. At dusk, the parade of enormous container vessels passing just offshore is something port cities worldwide have destroyed their coastlines to accommodate, but here you can watch it from a wooden deck bench with a convenience store coffee. The park also has a small pine forest arboretum used by local elementary schools. Take Bus 7 from Jagalchi Station; the ride itself through the working waterfront neighborhoods is worth the trip.
