Biseondae is a wide granite rock platform on the Seoraksan stream about 3 kilometres from the Seoraksan park entrance, where the stream splits around polished rock slabs and the surrounding cliff walls rise above the valley floor. The approach trail from the entrance is flat and accessible; the rock platform itself is a recognised resting point where most hikers stop before the trail divides toward Ulsanbawi or the upper valley. In summer the stream over the rock surface is knee-deep and clear. The rock walls above Biseondae show the same granite geology as Ulsanbawi and the cliff faces are used by climbers in the drier months.
