The rocky cliffs at Yeongdo Island's southern tip are Busan's oldest tourist site — Silla King Muyeol reportedly came here to practice archery in the 7th century. What most visitors experience is the loop road by danubi train, but the real draw is the 4.3km walking trail along the cliff edge, accessible by continuing past the Yeongdo Lighthouse viewpoint. About 800 meters from the lighthouse, a set of unmarked stairs descends to a tidal ledge called Sinseon Rock where Busan's famous sashimi grandmother vendors once operated (they've since been relocated). On clear days in winter, the outline of Japan's Tsushima Island is visible from here, 49km away. Visit on a weekday to avoid weekend family crowds; the walk takes roughly 90 minutes including the lighthouse viewpoint.
