One of the last remaining daltongnae (moon villages) in Seoul, formed in the 1960s when residents displaced by Cheonggye Stream development were resettled on this hillside. Hand-painted murals, steep alleyways barely wide enough for a motorbike, and original single-storey homes survive in a city otherwise defined by apartment towers. Redevelopment has been debated for years — every visit may be one of the last chances to see this vanishing urban fabric.
