Bomun Lake in Seongbuk-gu is a small urban reservoir with a 1.3 km circuit path that functions primarily as a morning exercise route for the surrounding residential population. The lake holds a resident population of migratory and resident waterbirds year-round; the reeds at the northern end are a reliable spot for reed warblers and other wetland species. The path is used by local joggers from around 6 a.m. and is quiet and uncrowded for most of the morning. The Seongbukcheon stream trail connects directly from the lake's east end toward the main mountain corridor to the north.
